Democratic Presidential Hopeful Klobuchar Touts Midwest Ties to Michigan

The path to the White House continues to run through Michigan and other Midwestern states that President Trump won in 2016.

Several Democratic presidential candidates have been in Metro Detroit in recent days.

That includes Minnesota’s U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who launched her campaign while standing in a snowstorm.

It was a sign, she said, of the grit and determination she would show in pursuit of the White House.

Klobuchar is proposing massive programs to fix the nation’s infrastructure and improve substance abuse and mental health treatment.

Klobuchar tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter there are realistic ways to pay for those programs.
