It’s been three months since Michigan voters decided to legalize recreational marijuana for adults 21 and up.

Since then, a lot has happened in the world of cannabis in Michigan. Not only are we in the early stages of implementing the new recreational marijuana regime, but we’re also still grappling with major changes to our medicinal marijuana system.

How are things going with this experimentation in liberalizing cannabis?

On Detroit Today, Stephen Henderson speaks with Barton Morris, principal attorney with Cannabis Legal Group in Royal Oak, about what he’s seeing so far as the state implements the new law.

Meanwhile, the first state-licensed medical marijuana provisioning center in Oakland County has opened. That’s especially significant, considering law enforcement on the county level has long been adversarial — to say the least — to people looking to sell marijuana in any capacity since Michigan legalized medicinal cannabis in 2008.

Henderson speaks with Jerry Millen, the co-owner of The Greenhouse of Walled Lake, about why he decided to open a dispensary in Oakland County and the road ahead for his business and other marijuana entrepreneurs.
