Former USA Gymnastics, MSU Doctor Sentenced to 60 Years for Child Porn

Larry Nassar, famed for treating Olympic gymnasts, gets 60 years for child porn, still faces sex assault sentencing.

A federal judge in Michigan is sentencing a former doctor for the USA Gymnastics team to 60 years in prison for violating child pornography laws.

Larry Nassar is also accused of sexually assaulting more than 140 women, including Olympic athletes.

Nassar was renowned as a doctor for treating the injuries of gymnasts.

But earlier this year he pleaded guilty to molesting teenage girls he was supposed to be helping.

Now a federal judge has ordered Nassar to serve a total of six decades behind bars for possessing more than 30-thousand pictures and videos of child pornography.

The 54-year-old Nassar still faces possible life terms from the state.

He pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges brought in Ingham and Eaton counties and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

There are also lawsuits pending against Nassar’s former employer, Michigan State University, and USA Gymnastics.
