New Plans for Michigan and Trumbull Site

Detroit Police Athletic League secures $12 million for new youth facilities at old Tiger Stadium grounds.

After years of passionate and sometimes heated debate, new plans are being finalized for the site of the old Tiger Stadium. The Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL), has secured $12 million from several foundations and organizations to turn the site into a multi-sport complex. PAL provides sports activities and mentoring for hundreds of children. PAL CEO Tim Richey spoke with WDET’s Amy Miller and says the plan has been in the works for several years.
