A Michigan Congresswoman says numerous workers in the state tell her they are living in a climate of uncertainty and fear.
President Trump was propelled into the White House in large part by pledging to bring outsourced jobs back to the U.S. and make Michigan, in particular, the world’s hub for manufacturing.
Once a reliable Democratic stronghold, Trump was able to turn Michigan red.
Now some members of Congress, including Dingell, are holding forums with labor leaders and academics across the country, trying to take a snapshot of how well certain workers are doing in the current economy.
Dingell tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter that many workers appear worried.
