The Detroit Free Press has broken some big news stories during Paul Anger’s time as editor and publisher. They include the texting scandal that brought down Kwame Kilpatrick and two series on how Detroit went broke and was reborn. Anger is retiring this spring after almost 50 years in journalism. Besides the Freep’s investigations, Anger tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller he’s proud of the paper’s transition to other forms of delivering news to its readers.
