The State Board of Education is interviewing the final three candidates today to become the next state school Superintendent. Current Superintendent Mike Flanagan will retire from the post at the end of June. Among the candidates being considered for the position is Vickie Markavitch—the Superintendent of Oakland Schools. She has been superintendent of the district since 2004. Before that she was a superintendent in Indiana and Illinois.  She spoke with WDET’s J. Carlisle Larsen
