Exhibit Offers Free Trip Back to the ’70s

Metro Parent Editor Julia Elliott tells us what’s ‘hip and happening’ this weekend.

Many March events will focus on holidays and the promise that Spring may actually come by the end of the month.

But Metro Parent Magazine Editor Julia Elliott says this weekend parents can escort their children on a tour through the 1970s. The Lorenzo Cultural Center in Clinton Township opened an exhibit called “The 70s: Heavy, Hip and Happening” this week.

Visitors can explore everything from the Watergate scandal to the space program.

“But it’s also just the music, the fashion,” Elliott says.”Even the gas shortages it hits on. They’ll probably laugh when they realize how cheap gas was back then.”

The exhibit is free and runs through May 4.
