Local Group Has Plan To Fight Effects of Climate Change in Metro Detroit
The Detroit Climate Action Collaborative have put together a plan to address threats of climate change in and around Detroit.
When we think about how climate change is and will impact our planet, we typically think of overpowering hurricanes like we saw in Puerto Rico, rising sea levels that affect coastal communities, or droughts that impact arid regions prone to wildfires.
But climate change does and will impact life in all spaces, including Detroit.
A group of more than two dozen local groups and businesses have put together a plan that addresses how climate change poses a challenge to Detroit and the region.
Kimberly Hill Knott is director of policy at Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice and project director for the Detroit Climate Action Collaborative. She joins Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson to talk about those efforts.
