The 2020 presidential race continues to shape up. That’s especially clear here in Michigan as Beto O’Rourke — the former Texas congressman and candidate for U.S. Senate — and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand campaign in Metro Detroit on Monday shortly after throwing their hats in the ring for the Democratic nomination.
O’Rourke and Gillibrand are among 15 Democrats that have announced their candidacies for president. Some of those candidates have embraced positions that would have been considered far to the left in past presidential years. But some of them could be considered mainstream with Democratic voters these days.
