BOOK CLUB: Author Matthew Desmond Talks EVICTED And The Cycle Of Poverty Through Eviction

Detroit’s Public Radio Station, WDET, invites metro-Detroiters to read Matthew Desmond’s Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City this summer. 

 

Stephen Henderson and the Detroit Today team will host a series of on-air discussions about eviction and housing insecurity in southeast Michigan throughout the summer, as well as moderating discussions on a new “Detroit Today Summer Book Club Facebook page beginning this week.

 

WDET launched the Detroit Today Summer Book Club at Source Booksellers in Midtown in June to a crowd of more than 80 enthusiastic readers.  In addition, Stephen Henderson and guests will travel around Southeast Michigan to host book club conversations and panel discussions.  Everyone interested in the topic of housing insecurity and its impact on our communities is invited to attend.
