Mayor Mike Duggan recently joined Detroit Today to talk about about his campaign for reelection, his accomplishments so far, and ways the city could be better. This week, the show begins a series of conversations with those who want to replace him.

How is Detroit doing under Mayor Duggan? Is it time for new leadership?

Ingrid LaFleur is a local curator and artist, and says she’ll be a candidate for mayor in 2017.

“I think it’s really important that we have a new approach,” LaFleur tells Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson. “That we have… 21st Century thinking around these challenges.”
