Veterans Benefit from Homeless Efforts but Families Still Need Help

Homeless advocate says public needs more passion towards ending homelessness

When President Obama took office he set the lofty goal of bringing an end to homelessness by 2015.  He has not been able to meet that goal, but the author of a new book says attempts to find housing for homeless veterans are proving successful. The Founder of the Burnes Center on Poverty and Homelessness at the University of Denver, Don Burnes, was in Detroit recently to meet with advocates for homeless people and to discuss his new book called “Ending Homelessness; Why We Haven’t;  How We Can”. He tells WDET’s Amy Miller that progress is being made
