Michael Taylor is the mayor of Sterling Heights in Macomb County. He’s a lifelong Republican, and voted for Donald Trump in 2016.

“I’m not here to defend my vote in 2016. I regret it.” — Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor

Taylor says his lack of support for Trump has been bubbling up for a couple of years. “I couldn’t do it anymore,” he says.

“This is a question of putting our country over party,” Taylor continues. “We need to get this country back on the right track. We need real leadership from the White House. And given the crisis we’re in right now the lack of leadership is on full display.”
