This week marks the 80th birthday of folk legend Judy Collins.

Collins started performing in the early 1950s at the age 13. And by the start of the ‘60s, she was pursuing music full-time.

In an interview from 2011, WDET’s Rob Reinhart spoke with Collins about being an integral part of the the 1960’s folk era, convincing Leonard Cohen to become a performer, her relationship with Stephen Stills, and becoming the “Judy” in CSNY’s “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.”
