Benson Discloses Personal Finances [DOCUMENT]

Michigan Secretary of State lists 2018 income as part of her push for more government transparency

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and her husband reported $535,000 in combined personal income in 2018. Benson disclosed their finances on her official website as she called on the Legislature to make such disclosures public. 

The first-term Democrat says she received a $300,000 salary as CEO of the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality, and also $70,000 from Wayne State University. Her husband. Ryan Friedrichs, earned $165,000 as the City of Detroit’s Chief Development Officer.

Benson posted a 9-page document that also lists bank and retirement accounts.
