FBI, State Police Search Home of State Senator Bert Johnson

The FBI and the Michigan State Police searched the home of State Senator Bert Johnson Monday morning. They spent several hours at his house in Highland Park, removing boxes and a computer.

FBI Detroit spokesperson Timothy Wiley says he could only give the most basic details.

FBI personnel are here on scene in Highland Park at a residence conducting a law enforcement activity,” he said.

Wiley would not talk about the focus of the search.

Officials in Lansing confirmed that Johnson’s office there was also searched.

Johnson was elected to the State Senate in 2010.  He previously served three terms in the State House.
