City of Detroit officials and Wayne State University broke ground today on the Mike Ilitch School of Business. Mayor Mike DugganCity Council President Brenda Jones, and Wayne State President M. Roy Wilson came together to commemorate the beginning of construction. The school will house nearly three thousand undergraduate and graduate students near the new home of the Detroit Red Wings, Little Ceaser’s Arena. Ilitich Holdings CEO Chris Ilitch says the business school is a meaningful milestone in his parents’ journey.

“Their gift to Wayne State represents how their dedication to others can, and will continue far beyond their lifetimes. This school will provide students the education and skills to become successful in business and in turn, they too will positively impact their community just as my parents have.”
