Henry Ford Hospital Celebrating 100 Years with Exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum
The Detroit Historical Museum is opening a new display illustrating the Henry Ford Health System’s last century.
The Detroit Historical Museum is honoring Henry Ford Hospital’s 100th anniversary with a special exhibit. The display will detail the history of the Henry Ford Hospital, from its first days through its growth into Michigan’s sixth largest employer. Hospital CEO John Popovich says Henry Ford did not initially try to build a hospital on his own.
“He was actually part of a group that was creating the first Detroit general hospital. He eventually took over the facility, and he created it with the best and brightest approaches that could be taken in medicine at that time, that continue to this day.”

Popovich says the exhibit goes on to describe the hospital’s evolution from the perspective of physicians, nurses and community members. The exhibit is now open, and runs through January.
