This isn’t the first time James Stern has seized control of a hate group.

It sounds like the plot out of a fantastic Hollywood movie. A black civil rights activist finds a way to outsmart and take over a white supremacist group with the intent of destroying it.

But that story is very real.

Rev. James Stern recently took control of a neo-Nazi group based here in Detroit and is working to dismantle it. And it’s not the first time he’s done this.

Stern joins Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson to talk about his background, his experience seizing control of hate groups, and whether he feels his life is in danger due to these endeavors.
