Timashion Jones is a Detroit native, a Cass Tech alum and an Emmy-winning filmmaker. He won the award in 2016 for Cody High: A Life Remodeled Project, a documentary about the renovation of an abandoned Detroit High School by community members and a local non-profit.
Jones’ current project is focused on the life and influence of the late Marcus Belgrave. Belgrave was a jazz musician — a trumpet player — who was not only a champion for jazz in the city, but a mentor to generations of the city’s jazz musicians.
