Detroit police are still searching for a 22-year-old man who escaped police custody while at Henry Ford Hospital on Sunday.

Officials say the suspect, identified as Cortez Rabb, was arrested on felony charges Sunday morning. Rabb told the officers that he had health issues and needed medical attention and was taken to the hospital on West Grand Boulevard.  Once there, he escaped control of the officers and fled from police. DPD did not specify what felony charges Rabb is facing.

Residents received an alert via the city’s Detroit Alerts 365 system a little after 9 a.m. Sunday morning. Officials advise people in the area not to approach the suspect if they see him, and to call the police immediately.  DPD has also set up a command post in the area and dispatched additional officers to join the search.
