Detroit officials and community partners are hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony this week to celebrate the new features at Clark Park.

The Southwest Detroit park’s new facilities include an inclusive playground for all abilities, a splash pad and new courts. The ceremony takes place Thursday at 11 a.m. Details about the ceremony can be found at clarkparkdetroit.com.

Clark Park currently provides year-round programming for more than 1,200 kids and young adults. The park remains the only location that operates the regulation-sized outdoor ice hockey rink in Metro Detroit.

The Clark Park coalition is planning another community gathering in July, with more updates to come.
