Longtime Detroit music journalist Jeff Milo has been plugging ears into the Detroit scene for years with his prolific Deep Cutz blog and his YouTube series, “The Milo Show.” Here, he gives us his rundown for what music to catch this weekend that isn’t… uh… playing Little Caesars Arena if you catch our vibe.

Detroit Music Video Extravaganza at Ant Hall
What: The Detroit Music Video Extravaganza is a One Night Music Video Film Festival, with 18 videos currently slated to roll for music fans, from artists such as Noveliss, Siamese, Bevlove and Anna Burch. They will also have the world premieres of videos for artists like saajtak, Red Electric Shark and White Bee

Day of the Dude at Bowlero Lanes Lounge
What: If you’re really into the DUDE, the main character from the 1998 Coen brothers film “The Big Lebowski,” then you probably already know that March 6th is the Day of the Dude. And Bowlero Lanes Lounge is celebrating a DUDE LOOK-A-LIKE CONTEST, as well as a performance by the exuberant rock outfit known as The Beggars.

The Codgers Album Release Show at the Gaelic League in Corktown
What: The Codgers are a Celtic-tinged folk, roots and Americana ensemble and they have their third full-length album coming out this weekend.

Patrice Scott and Tammy Lakkis at TV Lounge
What: TV Lounge consistently showcases some of the best in local hip-hop, electronica, house and techno. Patrice Scott headlines this night produced by the labels Detroit Vinyl Room and My Baby Records. Scott is an esteemed Detroit-based producer of techno and deep house, an innovative and dynamic club DJ who drew inspiration from legends like the Belleville Three and the Electrifying Mojo. Scott released his debut in 2015, called Euphonium, and has his own imprint, which is Sistrum Recordings. Joining Patrice Scott is the young, up-and-coming DJ and electronic music artist Tammy Lakkis, who put out one of my favorite songs of last year, something I spun constantly, a track called “This Is How It Goes.”
