The immigration debate rages on in Washington.

The latest dust-up comes after President Trump began tweeting this week about sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities and states.

Meanwhile, real solutions to our broken immigration system continue to be ignored–which has ripple effects right here in Southeast Michigan.

Kevin Piecuch is the executive director and principal attorney of Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center

The center provides free and low-cost legal services to underserved communities in the Detroit area, with a focus on recent immigrants and refugees. Piecuch founded the center in 2014.

He joins Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson to talk about the center’s work and the larger implications of the immigration system and debate here in Southeast Michigan.
