Flint Water Lawsuit Against Former Governor Rick Snyder Moves Forward
Detroit News reporter Jonathan Oosting talks about the case and what it means for Snyder and the residents who filed suit against him.
This week, a judge reinstated Gov. Rick Snyder as a defendant on a lawsuit filed by Flint residents whose water became tainted with lead during the city’s water crisis.
It was a strongly-worded opinion from U.S. District Court Judge Judith Levy that “authorizes new evidence in the case that plaintiff attorneys argue shows Snyder was aware of significant risks posed by Flint River water as early as April 2015 but did not inform residents until five months later, when the crisis could no longer be denied,” according to the Detroit News.
On Detroit Today, Detroit News political reporter Jonathan Oosting talks with Jake Neher about the case and what it means for Snyder and the residents who are bringing the case against him.
