State of Wayne County Address

County Executive Warren Evans spoke to an invitation-only crowd at the Detroit Film Theatre Tuesday.

Wayne County Executive Warren Evans delivered his State of the County address Tuesday evening at the Detroit Film Theatre inside the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Speaking to an invitation-only crowd at the theatre, he addressed the county’s fiscal stability, developments for the incomplete county jail near Greektown, and plans for the coming year.

Health care, the opioid crisis and mass transit also played large roles in his speech.

This was Evans’ third annual State of the County address.  He was elected as County Executive in November 2014.

Before taking that job, Evans also served as Wayne County Sheriff and Detroit’s Chief of Police.
