Detroit’s three casinos’ combined 2017 revenue of $1.4 billion was up 1.1 percent from 2016, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

Casino taxes are the city’s third largest source of revenue behind income taxes and state revenue sharing.

The three casinos reported paying $177 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the city of Detroit and $113 million in gaming taxes to the state of Michigan in 2017.

December revenues at the three casinos fell 0.6 percent in 2017 compared to 2016’s earnings.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board says MGM’s market share in 2017 was 43 percent followed by MotorCity with 34 percent and Greektown with 23 percent.
