The Detroit Film Theatre Pairs Tea and Movies for Kids

Tea Time Theatre is back at the DIA.

The Detroit Institute of Arts’ film theater is inviting visitors 13 and under to tea this weekend.

The Detroit Film Theater’s Tea Time Theater ends a week of special family programs at the DIA.

Emily Bowyer is the museum’s family program coordinator.

“It’s something that we did for the first time last year and it was really successful,” Bowyer said. “We’re pairing animation screenings with a little tea party in our Crystal Gallery just before.”

Tea Time Theater starts at 1pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The animated films will be shown at 2. This year’s films are from France and Japan. The tea and films included with museum admission – which is free to tri-county residents.
