State Representative Tim Kelly Says the Board of Ed Must Go

Resolution would abolish SBOE and give powers to the governor.

Michigan House Representative Tim Kelly has introduced a bill to abolish the State Board of Education and give its power to appoint the State Superintendent to the governor. He tells WDET’s Sascha Raiyn he thinks it’s not likely to pass, but he hopes it will add steam to a growing movement that feels the board model has failed.
