DWSD Takes Step Toward Improving Access and Bill Paying

New web app allows Detroit water customers to access information about bill and pay online.

A new app and website is intended to improve customer service at the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department. The app gives customers access to billing information, payment options and more. In the last 30 days, more than 7,000 people have used the new app, says Gary Brown, DWSD director.

“We’re really excited about this because it stops a person from having to drive to one of our customer service centers and stand in line. And so we’re framing this as ‘skip the line’, take care of the business that you need to take care of either your mobile app or your desktop computer” -Gary Brown

Brown says customers can also set up payment plans through the app. He says customers can also use kiosks located in a number of Rite Aid drug stores to make cash payments.
