Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan says his office has not been questioned or targeted in an ongoing federal investigation of the city’s home demolition program.

A grand jury has issued subpoenas to demolition contractors in Detroit. Federal investigators are looking to see if the city’s blight removal program misappropriated any money.

Duggan says he hopes the investigation will move quickly.

“What we want is if somebody did something wrong, they should be charged. If nobody broke the law, they should be cleared as soon as possible. And I hope they speed up the process,” Duggan says.

Duggan says his administration has been transparent and cooperative during the investigation.

He says he wants it to be clear that the investigation is focusing on activity in 2014. Duggan says the demolition program is moving full speed ahead today.
