Fiat Chrysler Ready to Recall SUV’s that could Suddenly Stall

Fiat Chrysler plans to recall some SUV’s with cranky crankshafts that could make engines stall.

Fiat Chrysler officials say the automaker is preparing to recall tens of thousands of sport utility vehicles that could unexpectedly lose engine power.

The automaker says more than 43,000 SUV’s will be recalled because of crankshaft problems that could cause engines to stall.

The problem affects some 2016 model year Dodge Journey, Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot SUV’s.

In addition, Fiat Chrysler says it will recall some 2017 model year RAM ProMaster vehicles equipped with air bag inflator systems that may not work during an accident.

The company says those vehicles are already at dealerships or on the way there.

Officials say both recalls will formally begin at the end of next month.
