U.S. Senator Gary Peters joins Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson to talk about the year in politics, including congressional approval of aid for Flint, Russia’s involvement in the U.S. election, and the transition to a Trump administration.

Peters says Trump’s picks for department heads need to be well vetted.

“Normally folks who are put into these positions… have a track record on these issues,” says Peters. But some of the people Trump has tapped to lead departments have little to no record with the area they are expected to oversee, says Peters.

“It’s going to be important for the American people to look at who these people are.”
