A Hundred Years Later Working Class Party Re-emerges

New grassroots party fields three candidates in November election

A new political party in Michigan is hoping to get three candidates elected this November. The Working Class Party has candidates running for State Board of Education, and in the 12th and 13th Congressional Districts.  Party leaders say some of the financial, educational and other crises facing the U-S are put on the backs of the working class by corporations, banks and politicians. Mary Ann Hering is one of the Working Class Party organizers. She tells WDET’s Amy Miller that there are millions of working class people who need a party that serves their needs.
