Legal Marijuana in Canada Worries Windsor Police Chief

Canada is set to legalize recreational marijuana next year, posing challenges for those crossing border into U.S.

WDET has been examining issues facing the city of Windsor, Ontario.

One issue of great concern to law enforcement there, and throughout Canada, is that by this time next year marijuana will almost certainly be legal throughout that nation for both medicinal and recreational use.

That poses particular concerns for Windsor, a border city set along the busiest trade route between the U.S. and Canada.

WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter talked about the potential legal entanglements recreational marijuana may bring to the city with Windsor Chief of Police Al Fredericks.
