How Do Democrats’ Education Proposals Stack Up to GOP, Trump?

Of all the major policy areas being discussed by the two major presidential campaigns, education is one that directly touches just about every individual across the country at some point in their lives. 

The Republican nominee is, by all measures, thin on the issue. As we discussed this time last week on Detroit Today, Donald Trump has not specifically weighed in on many pressing issues facing schools, parents, and students across the country.

Are the Dems any better on those issues? We take a similar look here at what’s in the Democrats’ platform, as well as what Hillary Clinton has proposed so far on the campaign trail.

Here’s a comparison of Clinton’s and Trump’s education stances from EdWeek.org.

“On the education question, Hillary Clinton has far more policies, ideas, platforms. So, you really can’t compare them, because (Donald Trump) has not said much,” says Bridge Magazine reporter Chastity Pratt Dawsey, who joins Detroit Today most weeks to discuss education issues.
