Pets aren’t people but lead has the same effect

As the investigation into how lead leeching into Flint’s water system should be abated, residents there continue to use bottled and filtered water for drinking, cooking and bathing. But there may be some members of Flint’s families that might not be getting the same treatment as their human loved ones. Pets can also suffer from lead poisoning. WDET’s Amy Miller spoke with Michigan State University Assistant Professor of Small Animal Clinical Sciences Dr. Daniel Langois about how lead can hurt pets and other small animals.
