IRS Starts Accepting and Processing 2015 Returns
The government is taking steps to protect identity of taxpayers online.
The Internal Revenue Service has started accepting and processing 2015 income tax returns. Many Americans will file theirs electronically. IRS spokesperson Luis Garcia tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller most taxpayers can file for free through the agency’s web site. He also says the filing deadline this year is April 18, because April 15 is a holiday in Washington, D.C. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.
