A group of local artists has donated $40,000 to Art Road, a nonprofit dedicated to providing art instruction to Detroit Public Schools without an art program. The Michigan Glass Project visited a class sponsored by Art Road last year. They then raised money during a three-day glass blowing event this summer, with all proceeds going to ART Road. WDET’s Bre’Anna Tinsley spoke with Allison Key, the president of Michigan Glass Project, about what inspired them to donate to Art Road.
