Arts, Beats & Eats…and Heat? A Preview of This Year’s Festival [Map+Forecast]

Producer says move from Pontiac to Royal Oak has been good for festival and host city.

The annual Ford Arts, Beats & Eats festival returns to Royal Oak for Labor Day weekend. The event started in 1998 in Pontiac, but moved five years ago. Producer Jon Witz tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that the relocation has been good for the festival and its host city. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.

Here are some things you should know about Arts, Beats & Eats:

HOURS: 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4 through Sunday, Sept. 6; 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day).

ADMISSION: $3.00 before 3:00 p.m., $5.00 after 3:00 p.m.

WEATHER FORECAST: A chance of thunderstorms each day except Sunday, highs in the mid-80s to near 90. Fair skies each night with temps near 70 (source: National Weather Service).
