Michigan Joins Other States in Fight Over New EPA Rules
States AG’s say courts need to consider new rule before it’s published
Michigan and 14 other states are filing suit against the Environmental Protection Agency and asking a federal judge to delay implementation of new greenhouse gas regulations. The suit is being seen by some as a preemptive strike pushing the courts to decide whether the boundaries of the new rules are reasonable. WDET’s Amy Miller spoke with Howard and Howard law firm partner and former Senior Vice-President of CMS Energy, Rodger Kershner about why Michigan and the other states filed suit before the new rules are even published.
