Gimme Some Mo: Mo Arts, Mo Crafts, Mo Food at Mo Pop Fest

The MO POP Festival brings Detroit arts and international indie music to the city’s West Riverfront Park

When you’re there, you’re going to know that art is a presence.

Artist Jeremy Hansen

Some of the biggest bands in indie music are playing the MO POP Festival at Detroit’s West Riverfront Park this weekend. Concertgoers can also experience art installations curated by Jeremy Hansen from River’s Edge Gallery in Wyandotte, as well as a summer version of the Detroit Urban Craft Fair, co-produced by Cary Gustafson. Hansen and Gustafson spoke with WDET’s Travis Wright. Hansen says the art displayed at “MO POP” is as important as the music. The festival happens this weekend at Detroit’s West Riverfront Park and features bands such as Modest MousePassion Pit, and King Tuff.

In the segment, we heard from “Silhouettes” from Viet Cong and “Needy Girl” by Chromeo
