DTE and Consumers Energy Pledge $5 Billion Each Towards Michigan Businesses

Two Michigan utilities are committing a $10 billion towards local businesses through Pure Michigan Business Connect.

Consumers Energy and DTE Energy are committing $5 billion each towards contracts with businesses in Michigan. The utilities are growing their pledge to Pure Michigan Business Connect–an initiative that links statewide goods and services to companies in need. Program leader Vince Nystrom says there are about 40,000 businesses in the Pure Michigan network.

“It’s everything from traditional services on the IT side, facilities, maintenance, technologies, equipment, power production parts and machinery… It’s a little bit of everything.”

Nystrom says the program has facilitated more than $2 billion in revenue for companies across Michigan. DTE and Consumers Energy’s $5 billion pledges will run from 2016 through 2020.
