WDET and GPS Distribute 8,000 Books to Kids in Southwest Detroit
WDET joined forces with Global Productivity Solutions to increase literacy through the GPS Books For Kids Challenge.
WDET’s vision is an informed and engaged Detroit, and we believe in giving every child a chance at fulfilling their potential. That’s why we joined forces with Global Productivity Solutions to increase literacy in Metro Detroit through the creation of the GPS Books For Kids Challenge.
Last October, thousands of WDET listeners stepped up to support WDET and their donations were matched with books by Global Productivity Solutions. With the help of our partner Operation:Kid Equip, over 28,000 books will be distributed to local kids in need this year.
Last Saturday, more than 8,000 of those books were donated at the Día de los Niños/ Dia de los Libros event to support literacy in Southwest Detroit.
