Flint to Discuss the City Post Emergency Manager

Flint officials will discuss what will happen after Emergency Manager Jerry Ambrose steps down.

Flint officials are scheduling a public meeting to discuss the future of the city after its emergency manager steps down. City Council President Josh Freedman is expected to be among those speaking at the forum.

He says officials need to determine how to keep the city solvent and to avoid ever being placed under another emergency manager.

“There some things that need to be put in place before he leaves that final order, kind of set out the roles and responsibilities of say the city administrator or even the city council and the mayor,” Freedman says.

Freedman says once the Emergency Manager steps down a state appointed transition advisory board will oversee Flint’s budget and spending.

The Public Affairs Forum is set for next week at the Flint Public Library Reading Room.
