Rep. Kildee Says Netanyahu Visit Was All Political
Representative Dan Kildee talks with us about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech before Congress.
Yesterday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke before Congress. It was a contentious speech for many reasons, in part because of a breach of precedent with Speaker of the House John Boehner, who invited Netanyahu without consulting the White House first. Representative Dan Kildee was at the speech and he joins hosts Stephen Henderson and Laura Weber-Davis to talk about the Prime Minister’s speech.
Even though many of his Democratic colleagues did not attend the speech, Representative Kildee says no matter his feelings on the speech or speaker, he has a job to do.
“If a foreign head of state comes to address a Joint Session of Congress, even if I find fault in how the invitation was offered and particularly even if I find fault in the message of that leader, I have a job to do and the people of my district, of the 5th District, elected me to a seat in Congress and I was in that seat,” says Kildee.
