WDET Launching New “Essential Cooking” Podcast With Ann Delisi and Chef James Rigato

The twice-a-month podcast and monthly radio show will be about food, those who create it and its rich history.

Several years ago, Mabel Gray Chef James Rigato and I formed a friendship over our mutual love for food and music. Now 101.9 WDET will be launching a podcast about food, those who create it and its rich history, hosted by James and I, that will give you access to some of the best chefs around.

“Essential Cooking” is a twice-a-month podcast where we will interview a wide array of food industry experts and talk about the history of food and food culture. 

Additionally, on the second Friday of the month, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on WDET, we’ll take audience questions with guests and play music to inspire people to cook. launches. The first show will launch Friday, July 10 with sommelier Christopher Hunter, Senior Wine Associate at Vino Volo in Detroit who believes wine is art, and Pashon Murray, co-founder of Detroit Dirt, the leading model of organic waste recovery and reuse whose mission is to drive forward a low-carbon economy. 

“Essential Cooking” will be coming to a podcast platform near you by the end of July.
