Proposed Detroit Ordinance Would Measure City’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions
City Councilman Scott Benson joins Detroit Today to discuss setting goals for a greener future here in Detroit.
There’s a new effort to improve Detroit’s environmental standards coming from Detroit City Councilman Scott Benson.
Earlier this month, Benson introduced an ordinance that would assess the city’s greenhouse gas emissions with the intention of setting goals for a greener future here in Detroit. The ordinance will be discussed at a public meeting on July 22 and will go for a vote the following day. Benson came on Detroit Today to talk about his effort with Stephen.
Nick Schroeck, an environmental law expert and Director of Clinical Programs and Associate Professor of law at University of Detroit Mercy Law School, joins that conversation as well and offers his thoughts on the ordinance and other environmental issues facing the city and its residents.
