Microsoft and a group of social innovators and entrepreneurs have joined forces to develop solutions to the city’s most pressing issues at a one-day conference. The Detroit Rising Summit was designed to bring together entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and urban planners to discuss how to fix issues like mobility and housing in Detroit.

Entrepreneur Nicole Farmer spoke at the conference. She says the summit shows the community that there are people who care.

“A lot of times I think the regular Joe, sitting there going to work, stuck in traffic. They’re dealing with their everyday life, they don’t feel as if anyone cares about the rest of the world’s problems, much less theirs. And now we have a room full of people who actually have the heart to care,” Farmer says.

Farmer says all Metro Detroiters has the responsibility and the ability to move the city forward.
